While we all ‘stay home’ there are plenty of things we can be doing to support and maintain our health and wellbeing during these times. Now may seem like a scary time so it’s important to add some positive steps into our new routine. Why not try some of these ideas from our Spa Manager?
- Stay active – Exercising has so many benefits. It releases positive endorphins which improve your mental wellbeing. So, if you’re feeling down or sluggish, get up and get moving! There are plenty of ‘at home’ work outs to enjoy from high intensity to relaxation so choose one that is right for you! I would recommend trying Yoga By Tim on YouTube – Tim has designed a quarantine yoga schedule, perfect for getting flexible and building muscle. He also works on breathwork which I have found beneficial during these weeks.
- Prioritise healthy sleep – Stress can affect us all differently but if you are struggling to drift off at night it is important to stick to a good routine. Make sure you get ready for bed a similar time each night and set your alarm for the same time each morning. I would also suggest adding some relaxation to your evening wind down. A nice warm bath, aromatherapy oils or a soothing candle can work wonders.
- Enjoy a balanced and healthy diet – it’s hard to fight the temptation to not just have one more custard cream when you’re working from home but eating too much junk food can make you feel really sluggish. It is important to have a healthy and balanced diet. Start your day off with hot water and lemon, make sure you’re getting your 5 a day and limit how much junk food you eat. We are not saying cut out junk food altogether, times are hard enough as they are, but this should give you an energy boost!
- Pamper yourself – make sure you create time for yourself. A 30 minute bath with magnesium flakes, a mini manicure or even just a face mask. If you’re looking for more indulgence ESPA have just released their new Modern Alchemy range which is extra indulgent and available to shop online!
I hope these small tips help you.
Love,
