How to Emerge from Lockdown Gently

What a delight it is to see our local high street buzzing with activity again (albeit all outside!). However, with May 17th on the horizon and promises of restrictions easing even further, we are all looking towards that brightening light at the end of the lockdown tunnel. Yet, with normal life resuming, how can we ensure that we make this transition gently and avoid getting carried away with our work and social plans.

Here are our top tips:

Remember that you can still say no:

Though we may be tempted to throw ourselves straight back in to our hectic social lives, take some time to make sure that you’re easing yourself back into it. Making the transition from lockdown life to ‘normal’ life too quickly could risk burn out which could have a severe impact on our mental health. Remember that you don’t need to say yes to everything, it is up to you how many events you put in your diary – don’t fall victim to FOMO again.

Don’t forget about yourself:

One positive taken from lockdown has been that I’ve really been able to focus on looking after myself, whether that be regular at-home work outs of perfecting my skincare routine. Don’t forget to keep that regular date with yourself booked in. Promise yourself that you’ll do something for you every other week or at least once a month. Our ‘All About Me’ Spa Package is all about putting yourself first, you can find out more on how to book here.

Reflect positively on the last few months:

While I can understand many of us would like to put the words ‘lockdown’ in a secure box that will never open again, try not to forget all the valuable lessons that have been learnt during this time. For many, life has been slower, giving us more time to realise what is important and even identify new hobbies and interests. With our social lives getting busier again, it can be harder to keep up with these new lessons so why don’t you try writing them down somewhere?

We hope that you’re looking forward to a bit of normality and we can’t wait to cheers with you in our Spa Lounge some day soon!

Love,

Rebecca
