My skin is so….Sensitive

Welcome back to my new skincare series, offering advice and product recommendations for all skin types.

This week it is the last in this particular series but stay tuned for further topical series that will be coming your way soon! We are ending this series on sensitive skin and the best products and treatments to ensure that your skin doesn’t become inflamed and uncomfortable.

Our skin is gentle and must be treated with care. In fact, all types of skin can experience sensitivity at times due to external environmental factors such as pollutants, diet and weather. However with simple changes to your skincare routine and ensuring that you are using unfragranced and gentle products, your journey to soft and soothed skin is well and truly on its way.

At The Spa at Bedford Lodge Hotel, guests can try the ESPA Personalised Facial which is perfect for those who need specific tailoring. Our expert facialists will talk through skin concerns that are personal to you, before offering a deep cleanse, exfoliation and a treatment specific massage and mask.

If you are concerned about signs of ageing yet have sensitive skin, try Dermatude Meta Therapy. Ideal for those seeking more than skincare but not ready for serious treatments, the therapy includes ingredients which nourish live cells and create a healthier appearance. This gentle procedure is targeted towards most skin types and requires no downtime – one of its main benefits!

Whether your skin is highly sensitive or only flares up occasionally, I recommend you use gentle formulas which will soothe and protect the delicate skin. ESPA offers a fantastic range of skincare, perfect for each skin type. For sensitive skin, the Skin Rescue Balm is an intensely nourishing treatment balm. With ingredients including Blackcurrant Seed Oil, Manuka and Tamanu Oils and Sea Fennel, this will leave skin beautifully comforted and replenished.

If you are looking for an at-home solution, there are lots of simple changes that you can make to your daily routine. When purchasing new products, whether this be make-up or skincare, always make sure to read the labels for products that are free from fragrances and harsh chemicals. It is recommended to use products with less than 10 ingredients for sensitive skin.

Another top tip is to make sure that you aren’t harsh on your skin when removing make-up. To remove any eye makeup, hold down over your eye to dissolve the product before gently swiping away.

I hope you all enjoyed the series and if you have any questions comment below!
