Pregnant? Why it’s important to head to The Spa…

With swollen feet, an aching back and dry, itchy skin just some of the problems you may have to face when you’re pregnant, you’ll never need some quality spa time more than when you’re a mum-to-be. With all those changes happening to your body, visiting a spa can be the perfect way to relieve stress and alleviate some of the normal discomforts of pregnancy.

Here at The Spa at Bedford Lodge Hotel we have created a haven of peace and quiet, where you can enjoy a calming environment and a selection of wonderfully relaxing speciality treatments, following the first trimester of your pregnancy, to help you when you’re expecting and beyond.

Our Pre & Post Natal Treatment includes a deeply nourishing massage, targeting areas prone to stress and tension during or after pregnancy. This blissful treatment includes a gentle back exfoliation followed by a soothing body massage, that focuses on alleviating muscular aches whilst helping to relax, restore and revitalise. Your therapist will put together a tailored-made treatment, based on what stage you are at in your pregnancy or after your baby is born.

For tired feet and heavy, swollen legs, a very common problem in pregnancy, our Lighter Legs revitalising treatment works miracles to reduce puffiness and soothe aches and pains.

Whilst heat experiences such as the sauna, steam room, hot tub and Jacuzzi are not recommended when you are pregnant, due to the risk of overheating which can be harmful to you and your baby, the Spa has plenty of other superb wellness facilities to take advantage of.

A light swim in the pool will not only provide some exercise but it is also low impact and gentle on the body – perfect for you and your bump. You might also like to opt for the Couples treatment suite so that you can share your pampering treats side by side with your partner to help you both relax and unwind before you welcome your new arrival.

Also, what better excuse to put your feet up in our decadent relaxation room – a beautiful calming space, complete with soft lighting, soothing music and an array of comfortable sofas and cosy soft blankets.

Pure bliss!

Love Rebecca
