With our spa due to reopen on the 19th May, we’ve seen a surge in bookings at The Spa at Bedford Lodge Hotel suggesting that most of us are in desperate need of a relaxing spa experience!
While we’re ready to welcome our loyal guests, our doors are always open for new visitors who are seeking a luxurious stay. But for those new to the world of spa, there are plenty of health benefits to be discovered in each of our spa elements. Here’s how:
Sauna
Saunas are popular for relaxation and can leave spa-goers feeling invigorated. With the blood vessels able to relax and dilate in a sauna, this helps to increase blood flow in the body. The sauna experience can then help to reduce tension in the joints and relieve sore muscles.
The humidity of the enclosed space can also help to flush toxins as we sweat, meaning a short time in the sauna is one of the best ways to detoxify our bodies.
Steam Room
Similarly to a sauna, there are several health benefits associated with steam rooms including improved circulation and loosening of stiff joints.
The heated environment has also been shown to reduce blood pressure and keep the heart healthier. For those looking to improve their skin, the humidity helps to open the pores and cleanse the outer skin.
Hydrotherapy Pool
Offering a spacious pool for our guests, this includes 5 unique water experiences to enjoy in an entirely personalised way. The perfectly placed water jets can help to ease away ache and pains while the more gentler settings allow guests to sit back and relax with the warm bubbles helping to soothe the body.
Experiential Showers
A fun element to any spa experience, the experiential showers combine various water settings with lighting effects to deliver a multi-sensual experience. The perfect way to cool down after the heat experiences, there are plenty of options to rejuvenate the body by combining the settings of the showers with the nearby ice fountain. I recommend using the experiential showers post-Sauna to help flush out toxins and increase blood flow.
We’re looking forward to welcoming you back soon,
Until next time
Love, Rebecca x
